When this semester draws to a close next week, it will also mark the end of the Independent’s first year serving the Landmark community. It hasn’t always been easy, but we worked hard last semester and this semester to find a sense of direction, and prove that despite receiving funding from the College we are willing to pursue the important stories, whether or not they reflect well on the establishment.
Over the course of this year, we’ve covered important issues like the college’s enrollment shortfall and its search for a new president. We’ve kept abs on college athletics, both in victory and in defeat. And we’ve provided good advice to students regarding study skills, events and activities on campus, and how to make the most of your time here at Landmark.
But our work is far from over, and we know it. We’re always looking for ways to better serve our readership, and have implemented new ways for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to suggest story ideas and critique our reporting. This is your paper too, and we want to do whatever we can to tailor it to your needs as individuals.
